LeShan and Emily, co-founders of georgie tees

™

, first met in California

n 1998

. They

became fast

friends when they discovered their daughters—only

three-months old at the time—had

birthdays

only one week apart. The friendship

grew

through play dates, shopping trips, and the

occasional

late-night therapy

session (i.e.

girls’ night out). It even survived Emily’s move to Utah

ctober of

2000

though

LeShan’s move

out there

ithin

a few months didn’t hurt…

(

Upda

LeShan and her

family moved out to Florida in November of 2005, and though

her friend misses

her terribly, both the

friendship and the business are still going strong.)

During the summer of 2005, both girls were expecting again. By now LeShan had a

girl, twin boys,

and was expecting a girl. Emily had two girls and was finally

expecting

her first boy. For years both

had dreamed of working together, creating

something

they could call their own, but life just kept

happening. And then one day,

during one of

those extremely rare quiet moments, an idea began to

take shape. It

looked like for

once pregnancy would bring more than just added weight—it would

bring inspiration.

Maternity clothes had come a long way in the past five or so years. Designers and

high-end clothing

stores had their own maternity lines, but for those who loved t-

shirts

(Emily in particular) there was

a serious lack of anything really fun to wear.

Drawing

from personal experience—and again, many

late-night therapy sessions—

the girls

created a line of authentic t-shirts to add some humor to

those often long,

uncomfortable, and crazy nine months

And when those nine months are over, life just gets crazier. (Of course, less

heartburn and a

normal-size bladder help ease the transition a bit.) When the reality

of motherhood hits—and it will

hit…over and over again—georgie tees™ will make

that

reality a lot more fun with its line of shirts

for infants. Humor is

possibly

the only drug-free way to avoid going insane...just

With a total of eight kids

and two husbands

, Emily and LeShan continue to rely on

humor for survival. Without it, they'd have been committed long ago...
